Reshoring American Manufacturing - Remke Blog

Tweeting is never boring.  Yes – there are lots of tweets to read through but many times I have uncovered some real gems of ideas or information.  Many times before I have blogged about them and here’s another one!

The Reshoring Initiative.

Ever heard of it?  I hadn’t but thank heavens for one of the folks I follow on Twitter.  If you have lost business to China or other low-cost nations………or are concerned about this……then read on.

Harry Moser can help you.  Call him at 847-726-2975 and Harry will teach you what you need to know to get that lost business back.  And he’ll do this for free.  Too good to be true?  Nope.  It’s real and the full story is published in the December 2011 issue of Plastics Technology.  So call Harry if you need to.

The abbreviated version of the story is this……….Harry Moser wants to bring manufacturing back to the U.S.  The Reshoring Initiative is a non-profit business and on their website (reshorenow.org) is access to their trademarked tool – Total Cost of Ownership Estimator.  Access is free – yes free.  Plug in your numbers and the next time you come up against a competitor from a lower-cost nation that’s offering your prospective customer, or existing customer, a price that’s really cheap VOILA!  Lay down the numbers from Harry’s estimator and watch the reaction.

Harry Moser knows manufacturing.  He worked for 25 years at a leading global supplier of EDM and high-speed milling equipment and retired from that company in 2007 as chairman and president.  In 2010 Harry was inducted into the Manufacturing Hall of Fame sponsored by Industry Week magazine.  But it was his personal experience with the Singer Machine plant in Elizabeth, NJ that was really the catalyst for his passion; Reshoring America.  Take a moment to read the full article – it’s worth your time.

And then please do as Harry Moser asks:  Tell others about this.  Share this blog post & the article & the website.  As Harry says, “I’ve heard a lot of manufacturers say that things are going so good that they aren’t worried about the Chinese as much.”  If you utilize the tools at The Reshoring Initiative you’re company will be better prepared to keep the work – and the jobs – here in the U.S. of A.
