Leadership in Digital Marketing for the Electrical Industry - Remke Blog

Remke Industries is pleased to announce that as of January 1, 2013 Tom O’Gara will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer and Mark Sweeney will be appointed to President/Chief Operating Officer.

As Chief Executive Office (CEO), Tom will be responsible for the strategic initiatives of the company and he will continue to direct the finance, IT and human resources functions.  Tom has been president of Remke since 1985 and joined the company as sales manager in 1978 when he was hired by John Remke, founder of the company.   “Tom’s leadership will be vital as we continue to transform Remke from what was primarily a products manufacturer to a customer-driven organization.  His focus on making the business better for over 30 years will continue to be a guiding force for me, the management team and employees at Remke,” said Mr. Sweeney.

In his new role, Mark will be responsible for all revenue & operations and will continue to direct the sales and marketing teams as well as the Flexible Solutions Center.  “Mark’s elevation to President/COO is very timely and important to our future” said Tom O’Gara.  “In order to meet the goals and objectives we have for Remke, our strategy requires that we align ourselves to manage not only today but for tomorrow as well.  Our Strategic Plan calls for additional personnel to meet our growth needs but none more important that continuity and succession of management.  Based on Mark’s experience and ability, our Board of Directors has endorsed him to lead Remke into the future as President and COO.”  Mark joined Remke in 1988 as national sales manager and was promoted to vice president in 1992.

For 50 years, Remke Industries has been manufacturing one of the largest and most diverse lines of electrical connectors.  We are committed to the highest standard of quality – meeting or exceeding our customer’s requirements & expectations.

Congratulations, guys. I can say I knew you when!
Tom, DW must seem like another lifetime ago by now. Sure does for me. Worked with you there, when Jane Lonergan was the ad manager, one of the first women in the electrical biz to hold that job.
Hope all is well, as it is with us. Have a sleeping giant electrical client now, Noark. Big global player just came to America and being run by old Molex guys.
We’re still right down the road in Palatine. Bigger and better than ever, but still strictly industrial.
    Anyhow, stay busy.
